Indianapolis greeted me with a blend of excitement and a hint of nervous anticipation. It’s not every day that you’re in a different city with a concert ticket in hand. Before heading to the Kevin Gates concert, I made a pitstop at Kuma’s Corner. Now, I must admit, I experienced a brief moment of sticker shock when I saw the price of the cheeseburger—$20! Yet, as I took that first bite, every flavor-soaked penny felt justified. The burger was the kind you reminisce about for days, weeks even. Satisfied and slightly heavier, I navigated the city streets, with Siri acting as my trusty compass, guiding me back to the Air Bnb that my buddy Comrade had secured for us. With time on our side, we decided to chill and brace ourselves for the night ahead.
Concerts have a certain electrifying allure, and this was only my third one. My previous experiences - one with Jellyroll and another with Skillet - had set the stage, but every concert is its own unique universe of sounds, sights, and sensations. The evening air was filled with anticipation. I could feel the collective pulse of the crowd, each individual eagerly awaiting the musical extravaganza. There were two opening acts, both setting the tone perfectly, hyping us all up. When Kevin Gates finally took the stage, the atmosphere was charged. Despite my initial reservations about the concert turning chaotic, I was pleasantly surprised by how civilized the crowd was, which only made the experience all the more enjoyable.
The night, however, was far from over. After the last beats had echoed away and the crowd had started to disperse, my friends and I made our way to a nearby pub. It was the perfect ending to an exhilarating night. The ambiance of the pub, combined with the lingering euphoria from the concert, made for some great conversations and lasting memories. Looking back, the entire day, from that oh-so-expensive-but-totally-worth-it cheeseburger to the soul-stirring music, made for one of those nights you tuck away in the ‘Unforgettable’ folder of your mind. Indianapolis, you were a treat!
If the cheeseburger was unforgettable then it’s worth every bit of that $20. Sounds like a fun day. 💜
